

Optometrist
Dr. Oberdorf received his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh. He obtained his doctorate degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. Upon his 1996 graduation, he performed a residency program at the Huntington VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He remained on staff at the V.A.M.C. for 2 years following completion of the residency program.

During this time, Dr. Oberdorf’s practice emphasized the diagnosis and management of ocular disease and related systemic conditions. He was a clinical instructor for students from the Illinois College of Optometry, Indiana University College of Optometry, and The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He also assisted in the supervision of the residency positions affiliated with the Indiana University College of Optometry.
Dr. Oberdorf has called Raleigh home since January 2000. He served as the Clinical Director of TLC Laser Eye Centers – Carolina upon coming to Raleigh, overseeing the pre and post-operative care of approximately 3000 patients undergoing LASIK, LASEK, PRK, and CK at TLC.
He has presented lectures to the Eastern and Coastal districts of the North Carolina Optometric Society, other optometrists, health care workers, and organizations.
Dr. Oberdorf has served as a Trustee and officer in the North Carolina State Optometric Society including its President from 2008-2009. He has served as an examiner for the North Carolina Board of Examiners in Optometry and as a member of the Wake County Board of Human Services.
In June 2005, Dr. Oberdorf was named North Carolina’s “Young O.D. of the Year” for outstanding service to the community and to the profession of optometry by Vistakon – Johnson & Johnson and the North Carolina State Optometric Society.
Dr. Oberdorf is a fan of the Carolina Hurricanes but his fandom remains even stronger for his hometown Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and ACC member Pitt Panthers.
Dr. Oberdorf and his wife, Tammy, an elementary school teacher, live in North Raleigh with their 2 children and a spoiled rescue dog named Stanley, in honor of the Penguins back to back championships.

Dr. Sinead Eck graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Sinead Eck graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Eck’s internships included the Allentown VA Medical Center and the William Feinbloom Low Vision Center in Philadelphia. During her final year of school she was recognized with honors in patient care at all 4 of her clinical rotations for demonstrating extensive knowledge in the areas of comprehensive eye exams, ocular disease treatment and management, contact lens fittings, and low vision evaluations.
Dr. Eck moved to Raleigh in 2023 with her fiance, David, and a greyhound named Linux. In her free time, Dr. Eck enjoys spending time hiking in the mountains, walking the Greenway trails or reading a good book.
